CERC is live with real-time, cloud-based, multi-asset clearing system powered by VeriClear® from Vermiculus
Transforming how receivables are cleared and settled in Brazil
Stockholm, February 5, 2026. Vermiculus, leading global provider of trading, clearing and CSD technology, has successfully delivered the real-time clearing system that is now live on CERC, the main financial market infrastructure specialized in receivables in Brazil.
CERC aims to make the Brazilian market of receivables more efficient, reliable and transparent. To meet the demands of a rapidly expanding market, CERC adopted a cloud-native, microservice-based clearing system that ensures scalable, resilient, and highly efficient operations. CERC is today Brazil’s largest FMI by volume of processed transactions.
This new streamlined clearing system enables CERC to process and settle multiple asset classes in real time, significantly enhancing operational efficiency and market reliability. By leveraging VeriClear, CERC can facilitate faster, more secure, and transparent settlements, reducing risks and providing greater confidence to market participants.
CERC originally began by registering trade invoices and has now extended its operations, among other things, to include settlement of receivables. The services include one-to-one transactions with the option of netting transactions. Additionally, the system supports delivery versus payment transactions.
The new system was delivered to CERC in just over a year. During 2025, CERC received authorization to operate as a Settlement system and a Central Securities Depository from the Brazilian Central Bank, and Brazilian and Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM), and could successfully go live with the VeriClear system.
Marcelo Maziero, Co-founder of CERC, commented: “Beyond delivering leading-edge technology, Vermiculus has brought an exceptional depth of business expertise. As we work to disrupt and streamline the receivables market, their modern platform and strategic insight have been invaluable in helping us move faster, smarter, and with greater confidence.”
With the launch of the clearing technology, CERC is prepared to address the evolving needs of Brazil's advancing financial market, where new innovative payment methods are emerging. Through the VeriClear system, CERC is equipped to manage future asset types and pursue additional market opportunities.
Taraneh Deryati, CEO of Vermiculus, said: “We are excited to be part of this forward-looking ecosystem that is challenging traditional alternatives in the Brazilian market. It has been rewarding to design a streamlined, feature-rich system from scratch that meets CERC’s current and future needs using our business expertise.”
VeriClear® is an adaptive, cloud-native, multi-asset clearing system built on cutting-edge microservices technology. It provides low-latency trade capture, real-time risk management, and flexible settlement options, ensuring efficient handling of complex financial transactions while seamlessly integrating with diverse systems through its agnostic interface technology.
