CleVerHack: Turning New Ideas and Techniques into Reality in 24 Hours

Vermiculus has just wrapped up the fourth edition of its annual hackathon, CleVerHack, a 24-hour long event where colleagues across the company come together to build, explore, and experiment with new ideas beyond their day-to-day-projects.

Roughly 40 projects were brought to life, ranging from extending the Rhythm Adapter to cover different business scenarios to building a GUI for Monte Carlo VaR backtesting and adding WebSocket support to OpenAPI.

As AI becomes an integral part of our work, it was no surprise that it emerged as a common theme in this edition of CleVerHack. We saw how AI was used either to speed up implementation—such as having extra ‘developers’ helping with code and making more efficient use of the 24 hours—or to explore AI in our day-to-day work, for example by trying out new tools,” explains Adilson Maria, project manager for CleVerHack.

Built in just 24 hours, the winning project was an interactive AI-powered platform that significantly improves visibility and coordination across teams. By combining real-time data, smart filtering, and personalized dashboards, it helps Vermiculus teams plan effectively and stay aligned.

CleVerHack is all about giving new ideas and experiments a chance to see the light of day. Stepping away from the pace of everyday project work, it also offers a chance to meet and collaborate with colleagues you don’t often work with, in a relaxed and informal setting. Whether it’s tackling a challenge or imaging entirely new ways to improve our daily work life, CleVerHack encourages creativity, curiosity and collaboration.
